PUT YOUR BEST FACE FORWARD!
Girls! Girls! Girls! On Thursday, October 25th, women of all ages assembled for the 3rd annual “Hope and the City” fundraiser at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, ON; hosted by the Canadian Cancer Society. The event’s slogan: “Get carried away for cancer” could not have better described the night’s festivities. An evening of food, fashion and fun, the event hall’s various stands offered much to go gaga over.

‘Sicilianna Beauty’ provided free Beauty Services for women to either have full-face make-up or touch-ups to be done by experienced professionals. In addition, Sicilianna Beauty held a free raffle – with top prizes generously donated by Elizabeth Arden, Lise Watier and Maskeraide.

The night began with Alvina August – a vocalist/songwriter who performed various hits along with her own original works. She dedicated her performances to, “all who have, are currently battling, or know someone…affected by cancer.”
The act that followed was Desert Belles, who shook what their Mamas gave them, entertaining the masses! Their rhythmic dance moves and coordinated dance routines got the crowd hypnotized. Each dancer performed a solo – spotlighting her own unique talents in belly-dancing.
A fashion show proceeded – with each model escorted by members of Markham’s Fire Fighter Association. This showcase highlighted pieces from Peachtree Originals, Four Seasons Boutique and Lisa Williams Designs, on-spot with this season’s trends.
The night concluded with the grand prize giveaway $500 MAC gift basket; as well as a heartfelt thank you from the “Hope and the City” Committee to everyone involved in organizing and participating in the event.
