If you follow me on Instagram or my Facebook page, you’ll constantly see me post about a baby named Eva Batista.
Eva is my friends daughter. She is a beautiful, happy (almost) 6 month old baby with the most gorgeous lashes and infectious smile. When Eva was just 7 weeks old, she was diagnosed with SMA Type 1. The most dangerous of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Without intervention, Eva may not make it to her 2nd birthday. There is a treatment available – it’s called Zolgensma. Zolgensma happens to be the most expensive drug in the world with a enormous price tag of $2.1 MILLION US DOLLARS. That number is daunting, especially in Canadian dollars – we have to raise $2.8 Million CAD. We have been fundraising since October 2019 and since then have raise over $1.8 Million CAD – that means we are just shy of our goal by one million dollars!!!
Zolgensma is not approved in Canada which is why our Canadian government has been no help. Believe me, we’ve tried!
Eva’s friends, family, and community are doing all we can to help our baby girl live the best life for a long time to come. We are fighting to give Eva a normal life.

What is a Karma Class?
Karma Classes are a donation based class ($5 minimum). Every month a new charity is highlighted. In February and March, Groove has been kind enough to donate 100% of these proceeds to Eva Batista and her fight for Zolgensma.

What is Barre?
Barre is a perfect blend of ballet inspired dance, yoga and Pilates, created to build long and lean muscles.
You’ll use some props, using light weights and high repetition to build strength and endurance. This class follows the BodyBarre method, and is a low impact high intensity workout. This class is 60 minutes, and will leave you feeling empowered and invigorated.
What You Can Win:
$10 Raffle tickets purchased in February at Groove Barre or Lashes & Lipstick will be drawn in March. 100% of proceeds will be donated to Eva Batista and her fight for Zolgensma.
