Last Friday, I had the opportunity to visit Doll Face Spa, at Yonge & Sheppard, for a 75 minute, anti-aging facial.
Doll Face offers 3 types of facials: Basic (30 mins for the on-the-go gal), Advanced (60 mins for a well deserved break), and Anti-Aging, which includes all the benefits of the Basic & Advance Facial but performed with Dermalogica AGE Smart products

Doll Face Spa is located in Uptown Toronto in a spacious bungalow. The decor is chic with blue, teal, and grey accents.
When you walk in, you are greeted and asked to leave your shoes at the door. I like this idea because it really keeps the place clean!
The reception/waiting area is in an open room that has two beds (for lash extensions) and dividing wall with a window cutout and two more beds behind it. See photo above.

After a few minutes, my esthetician, Florence, came out to greet me and bring me into a private room where I’d be getting my facial. See photo above.
The room was clean and bright! I’m used dark rooms when getting spa services but seeing as it was the mid-morning, the sun was shining, and it was an overall beautiful day, I didn’t mind the brightness. If it’s an issue with other clients, an easy fix is the option of darker blinds.

Anyway! My facial began with removing my eye makeup (I don’t leave the house without concealer, brows, and lashes, at the very least).
Afterwards, Florence double cleansed my face with the Dermalogica Precleanse (my absolute favourite Dermalogica product!) and with a cleansing gel.
The next step was the Daily Micro-exfoliant (that smells like hay!) that was left on my face while it got steamed for about 7 minutes or so. As my face was being steamed, Florence gave me an amazing neck and shoulder massage with just the right amount of pressure.
After the Micro-exfoliant and the steam, Florence gently massaged the exfoliant into my skin, removed it with cotton pads, and then proceeded to the extractions.
Next, I got a nice facial massage that should have been followed by pressure points but I didn’t realize the facial was 75 mins and I had to be out by noon, so we skipped the pressure points part. Totally my fault!
Then, she applied a Multi Vitamin Mask which smelled great and was cooling on the skin. She left the room to give me about 10 minutes to relax with the mask on. In all honesty, this part wasn’t as relaxing as I would have hoped it to be. Because we’re in a home, you can hear everything that’s going on outside of the room. All conversations, laughter, phones ringing, etc. so I just went through my twitter and IG TL while waiting.
Florence came back in, removed the mask, applied a cooling toner mist to my face, tapped it in, then applied the moisturizer and the facial was over.

I really loved how bright and clean my face looked and felt for the remainder or the day. I went for brunch and then went shopping with a girlfriend and all I wore was my brows and mascara. I felt really good about my skin!
Florence was really sweet, too. She answered any questions I had about my skin, and although she’s only been with Doll Face since April, she was really informative about the company and their brand as well.

Overall, I had a decent experience at Doll Face. If you’re a busy, on-the-go chick, you’ll definitely benefit from and fit right in with Doll Face Spa.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing facial experience, Doll Face Spa may not be the place for you but they offer other great services, like lash extensions, manicure/pedicures, and Venus Freeze Treatments (a body contouring, laser machine) that you can check out!

I’m actually thinking of heading back to try a Venus Freeze Treatment on my thighs. Hmmmm!!! :)
